How to sync Samsung Galaxy Watch with Apple Health
No official way for current models. Samsung states that Galaxy Watch4 through Watch8, Watch FE and Watch Ultra are not compatible with iPhone because they rely on Google Play services, and Samsung Health has no Apple Health export. Only older watches (Galaxy Watch, Watch Active/Active2, Watch3, Gear and Galaxy Fit models) work with an iPhone via Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health for iOS, and what they pass to Apple Health is limited.

How to connect Samsung Galaxy Watch to Apple Health
4 steps on your iPhone, about two minutes.
Before you start
- Galaxy Watch4 or newer: an Android phone for activation; on iPhone only through the unofficial Merge app
- Older Galaxy Watch, Watch Active/Active2, Watch3, Gear S2/S3/Sport, Gear Fit2/Fit2 Pro, Galaxy Fit: Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health apps from the App Store
Check your model
Galaxy Watch4, 5, 6, 7, 8, FE and Ultra cannot be paired with an iPhone officially. Older models (Galaxy Watch, Watch Active, Active2, Watch3) can use the Galaxy Wearable app on iPhone.
Older watches: pair through Samsung apps
Install Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health from the App Store and pair the watch. Then in the Health app tap your profile picture > Privacy > Apps > Samsung Health and turn on the categories offered. Expect basic activity data at most.

Newer watches: third-party bridge (unofficial)
Activate the watch once with an Android phone. Install Merge on the watch from Google Play and Merge on the iPhone from the App Store, approve Bluetooth and Health permissions, and pair. Merge requires a subscription.
Verify in Apple Health
Open Health > Browse > Activity > Steps > Data Sources & Access and confirm the app appears as a source.

Merge: Connect Android Watches
Subscription: $3.99/month or $35.99/year (Basic), $5.99/month or $59.99/year (Pro), 14-day trial
Unofficial; needs an Android phone for first activation

After setup
With Samsung Health for iOS, data reaches Apple Health only when the app syncs, and users report gaps. Merge runs as a background Bluetooth connection with the watch in range; Samsung features such as ECG, blood pressure and LTE activation do not work without an Android phone.
Avoid double-counting
If an iPhone and the watch both count steps, set the priority in Health > Browse > Activity > Steps > Data Sources & Access > Edit and drag the watch's app above iPhone. Samsung Health for iOS can also read iPhone steps from Apple Health, so avoid letting it re-count the same steps.

- Edit
- Open the Health app and tap Browse.
- Choose a category and a data type, for example Activity → Steps.
- Scroll down and tap Data Sources & Access.
- Tap Edit, then touch and hold the handle next to your device’s app and drag it to the top.
- Tap Done. Repeat for other data types you track with more than one device, such as Active Energy or Walking + Running Distance.
The source at the top wins when several write the same data type. New apps and devices are added at the top automatically. Apple Support ↗
Samsung Galaxy Watch not syncing to Apple Health?
Galaxy Watch won't pair with my iPhone
Expected for Galaxy Watch4 and newer: Samsung lists them as not supported on iOS. Only older models work with Galaxy Wearable for iPhone.
Samsung Health on iPhone doesn't show my watch
The iOS Samsung Health listing supports only older wearables (Gear S2/S3/Sport, Gear Fit2/Fit2 Pro, Galaxy Fit/Fit-e/Fit2, Watch Active2, Watch3). Update both Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health and the watch firmware.
Sleep from an older Galaxy Watch is not in Apple Health
Samsung Health for iOS passes very little to Apple Health. Users report that power-cycling the phone and watch and reopening Samsung Health sometimes restores syncing inside Samsung Health, but Apple Health support stays limited.
Steps are double-counted
Choose one steps source in Apple Health (Data Sources & Access > Edit) and don't let Samsung Health both read iPhone steps and write watch steps.
Merge drains the watch battery
A frequent App Store complaint. The developer says normal use should stay under 5%; check Merge's notification and sync settings.

Does Samsung Health sync with Apple Health?
There is no official export. Samsung Health for iOS reads steps from Apple Health; on Android, Samsung Health shares data only through Health Connect.
Is there an app to sync Galaxy Watch to Apple Health?
Merge (Merge Labs Ltd) is a paid app that connects Wear OS watches, including Galaxy Watch4 to Watch8 and Ultra, to an iPhone and says it writes workouts, heart rate, steps, distance, floors and calories to Apple Health. It is not affiliated with Samsung.
Can I move my Samsung Health history to Apple Health?
Not officially. Samsung Health has no import or export to Apple Health.
Will a Galaxy Ring work with iPhone?
No. Samsung's wearables run through Samsung Health on Android, and Samsung does not support the Galaxy Ring on iPhone.
